HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) -
One woman is dead after her mobile home caught fire in Hammond this morning.
The victim and resident of the mobile home was 51-year-old Sonya Richardson.
The Hammond Fire Department responded to the fire around 6:45 a.m.
Authorities identified the origin of the fire to be in kitchen near the cook top and exhaust system.
Authorities say no evidence of arson or criminal activity has been found at the scene.
Investigators determined the mobile home was equipped with smoke alarms but were unable to determine if the alarms were functional at the time of the fire.
