SLOCOMB, AL (WSFA) -
The Slocomb Police Department is searching for a man who is accused of assaulting a police officer and escaping.
Thomas White was originally wanted for a misdemeanor (criminal mischief). When police went to arrest him on New Year's day he got in a "scuffle" with the officer.
He is now wanted for assault 2nd degree to an officer, which is a felony.
There are also felony warrants for his arrest out of Jackson County, FL for burglary with a handgun.
The United States Federal Marshall's Fugitive Task Force are involved with the search.

White is considered dangerous and has aggressive tendencies towards law enforcement. Anyone with information is urged to contact law enforcement.
