EL PASO COUNTY, CO (WAFF) -
An Alabama soldier was arrested in Colorado on kidnapping and sex abuse charges in October of 2012. When authorities ran his DNA through the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS), they got a match in Madison, Alabama for the 2007 sexual assault of a 6-year-old child and also one in Texarkana, Texas linking him to a 2009 aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault.
Aaron Gregory Lucas was first arrested on October 23, 2012, in connection with an El Paso County, Colorado kidnapping case and a separate enticement of a child case, each from 2012, as well as for his connection to similar cases from other Colorado jurisdictions.
Lucas is currently in custody in El Paso County, Colorado.
He will be tried in Colorado before he is extradited to Madison County, and it is anticipated an arrest warrant will be presented from Texarkana authorities as well.
