PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -
A longtime shopping center in east Alabama, near the Chattahoochee River has been sold. Phenix City's Mayor Eddie Lowe told News Leader 9 the W.C. Bradley Company purchased the Phenix Plaza shopping center for $4.5 million.
The company has plans for a major renovation.
The 100,000 square-foot complex has a Piggly Wiggly Super Market and other store fronts. It's been on 13th Street, just across the bridge for nearly 60 years.
It a huge acquisition on the Phenix City side of the Chattahoochee. Officials will hold a press conference on the economic development Wednesday.
