FYFFE, AL (WAFF) -
The city of Fyffe has
chosen not to reappoint its fire chief.
Monday night, the city
council chose not to reappoint Jimmy Long and instead to appoint Grant Wood, a
relative newcomer to the department.
City councilman Paul Cagle
said he recommended Wood because of his certifications.
Long said he's
disappointed.
"Experience is a big
thing and being so young and arrogant, I'm afraid he's going to get somebody
hurt," said Long.
No word if Assistant Chief
Harlan Owens will be retained.
