Hospital asks people to stay away during flu outbreak

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville Hospital asked that people stay away from the hospital during this flu outbreak.

The hospital put out a release Tuesday afternoon urging everyone to avoid visiting the hospital during the flu outbreak.

A spokesman said patients do not need to be exposed to visitors who may be carrying the flu virus.

"We're seeing an increase in the flu this season. I think everyone is aware of that, and it's our hope that we can keep as many sick people from visiting our sick people as possible," said Burr Ingram with Huntsville Hospital. "This is good for our patients and certainly for the people who take care of them."
