MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
After a soaking rain, creeks and rivers are on the rise in the Valley.
That includes the Sand Mountain area, especially in the low lying areas.
Emergency Management officials said they are still another day away from things getting better.
It's already causing problems in Marshall County.
For a New Hope Telephone Cooperative truck, attempting to cross a flooded Butler Mill Road ended with workers seeking to pull the truck out.
Workers braved the very cold water temperatures, hooked the truck up and slowly brought it out. The truck was unable to start once it was pulled from the water and was towed away.
Several roads across Marshall and Jackson counties were closed due to rising waters.
If you run up on a closed road due to flooding, think twice before attempting to cross.
