HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Huntsville Hospital officials are asking the public to
limit visits to the hospital during the current flu outbreak.
"This is in the
best interests of our patients and our staff," said Jeff
Samz, chief operating officer of the hospital.
The
hospital is urging anyone with flu-like symptoms to not visit the hospital.
These symptoms include fever, runny nose, coughing, sore throat, body aches,
headaches, chills and fatigue.
They are also asking people who are at higher risk for
developing the flu to not visit except to receive care. That includes women who
are pregnant, persons over 65, anyone with a chronic medical condition, and
children.
"We
appreciate everyone's cooperation during this period. This is a preventive
measure for the benefit of our patients and the people who take care of them,"
said Samz.
