Jackson Co. traffic stop leads to meth bust

JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A traffic stop in the Flat Rock community led to the arrest of two men on meth charges.

Scotty Wayne Parson, 42 of Pisgah, and Winfred James Parson, 46 of Trenton, Georgia, were stopped in a vehicle on Highway 71 on January 12 by a Jackson County Sheriff's deputy.

During the stop, the deputy located items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia used to smoke methamphetamine, and alcoholic beverages. 

The narcotics unit was notified and responded to the scene to process the evidence of the meth lab.    

Both Parsons were arrested and charged with first degree manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Scotty was also charged with illegal possession of alcoholic beverages.   

Both were taken to the Jackson County Jail; Scotty on $16,000 bond, and Winfred on a $15,500 bond.
