DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
A Morgan County man was arrested, accused of using a utility knife to slash a man across the chest.
Police reported that a resident of Cedar Key Apartments on Cedar Lake Road got into an argument with her downstairs neighbor, William Knox.
On January 11, she went to his apartment to confront him and they got into a verbal fight. The woman's friend, John Jacob Holland, came down to the apartment to help her.
All three got into a fight and Holland retrieved a utility knife and used it to slash Knox across the chest, according to police.
Holland then hid the knife in the woman's apartment.
Knox was taken to Parkway Medical Center where he needed 15 staples to close the gash.
Holland was arrested and charged with second degree assault.
