Florence Police called off the search for a domestic violence suspect, but the man is still not in custody. City and campus police urge students and residents to be vigilant and alert authorities to any suspicious activity.
The University of North Alabama issued a Lion Alert Friday morning to students about Florence Police searching for a man near campus.
The alert said Florence Police were pursuing domestic violence suspect, Timothy Gardner. He was described as a black man, 5'11", weighing 160 pounds. He was wearing all black, with a hoodie. He has many tattoos, and police said he is a gang member and may be dangerous.
He was last seen near Tuscaloosa Street and Cedar. Florence Police set up a perimeter and used canine units to search the area.
