FAYETTEVILLE, TN (WAFF) -
Fayetteville fire investigators say they now know the cause of a huge fire at Fushi Copperweld Bimetallics in Fayetteville.
Fayetteville Fire Chief Danny Travis says an exhaust duct fan malfunction started the fire on January 4.
Employees are beginning to return to work starting up one section of the plant at a time.
Around 72 people were in the plant when the fire started, but nobody was hurt.
The Fayetteville Fushi Copperweld operation is a 287,000 square foot facility that manufactures Copperweld CCS and CCA wire. According to the Fushi Copperweld website, the facility is undergoing an expansion of its product mix, which would add to its fine wire capabilities.
