MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A new judge took his oath of office in Marshall County Thursday afternoon.
With his son holding the Bible, Mitch Floyd was sworn in by circuit judge Tim Jolley.
Floyd will move into the position from assistant district attorney where he's previously served.
He's looking forward to the challenge.
"Now I'm going to sit in the middle and call balls and strikes and still serve the people of this county and that's what I feel like I've been called to do," he said.
