Some roads in southeast Louisiana are closed or barricaded due to flooding in the WAFB viewing area. Sandbags are being made available in some parishes.

Ascension Parish
President Tommy Martinez announced Monday morning (Jan. 21) all Ascension Parish waterways
will reopen for recreational boat traffic beginning at noon.

Livingston Parish
Livingston Parish Director of Emergency Preparedness Mark Harrell along with Ascension Parish Director of Emergency Preparedness Rick Webre have announced all Livingston Parish waterways are closed. Only legitimate search and rescue boats will be allowed on the waterways.

Tangipahoa Parish
Tangipahoa Parish Government is distributing sand bags at the parish road and bridge facility in Hammond at 44512 West Pleasant Ridge Road and in Rosedale at 63101 Commercial Street until 3:30 p.m. (Thursday)
West Baton Rouge Parish
Sand along with bags has been Placed at Rosehill Fire Station 1 located at 8229 Rosehill Dr for anyone needing sand bags. So far we have not seen any flooding in the rest of the parish but we will be monitoring the weather conditions throughout the day.We have crews on standby to place sand and sand bags at locations in the rest of the parish if the need arises.
Sand and sandbags have also been placed at the Addis Station 1 on La 1 in Addis and Rivault park in Port Allen for those residents needing sandbags.
CANCELLATIONS
Ascension Parish
Due to flooding at the shooting range, public shooting will be cancelled Jan. 10.
Wildlife and Fisheries
All hunting seasons, except waterfowl, on Joyce, Manchac and Maurepas Swamp Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) will be closed starting Jan. 12, 2013, due to high water levels in the Maurepas Basin associated with recent rain events. This hunting season closure on these three WMA's in Ascension, Livingston, St. James, St. John the Baptist and Tangipahoa parishes will remain in effect until further notice.
All hunting seasons, except waterfowl, on Pearl River Wildlife Management Area will be closed starting Jan. 11, 2013, due to the river stage at Pearl River, La., reaching 16.5 feet. This hunting season closure on the WMA in southeastern St. Tammany Parish will remain in effect until water levels drop below 16.5 feet.
