POINTE COUPEE PARISH, LA (WAFB) -
State Police say a single vehicle crash early Saturday morning has taken the life of a Krotz Springs man. The crash happened around 6:30 am on LA Hwy 10 just east of LA Hwy 77 in Pointe Coupee Parish.
Troopers say James Thomas Webre, 45, was traveling eastbound on LA Hwy 10 when for unknown reasons his vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree head-on. Webre was not wearing a seatbelt and died as a result of his injuries in the crash.
It's unknown whether impairment was a factor in the crash, toxicology results are pending.
