FAYETTEVILLE, TN (WAFF) -
Firefighters battled a huge fire at a wire and strand manufacturing facility in Fayetteville, Tennessee Friday afternoon.
The fire started around 2 p.m. at Fushi Copperweld Bimetallics on Cotton Mill Road.
The flames spread quickly, and firefighters were able to contain the blaze. They brought in a crane to help fight the fire.
About 72 employees were inside the plant when the fire started, but no one was injured.
The Fayetteville Fushi Copperweld operation is a 287,000 square foot facility that manufactures Copperweld CCS and CCA wire. According to the Fushi Copperweld website, the facility is undergoing an expansion of its product mix, which would add to its fine wire capabilities.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The plant's human resource manager said employees will not report to work until further notice.
