FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -
A Florence woman was arrested on child porn charges after a joint investigation between Lauderdale and Madison Counties.
Investigators searched the home of 32-year-old Patricia Ayers at 1801 County Road 298 in Florence Thursday, after they received information about possible child pornography and production.
Investigators said a resident of Madison County received five pornographic pictures of a young girl through a digital download. That person contacted Madison County authorities who worked with Lauderdale County investigators to make an arrest.
Three children live in the home with Ayers and her husband. DHR also responded to the scene and took the children. They were placed in foster care. Investigators said Ayers' husband is not involved.
Investigators seized several computers, cell phones, and cameras.
Ayers was arrested and charged with five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of production of child pornography. She's being held in the Lauderdale County Jail on a $100,000 bond. The case is still under investigation, and Ayers could face more charges.
