DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
One of two escapees out of Morgan County has been
recaptured.
Sheriff Ana Franklin said Steven Mears was taken into
custody Friday afternoon.
Mears, along with Johnny Johnson, escaped from a work detail
in Decatur on Sunday.
Franklin said deputies were in contact with Mears' family
hoping they would pressure him to turn himself in.
Mears contacted investigators to turn himself in.
Johnson is still wanted. Anyone with information on his
whereabouts should contact police.
