The case of a Shoals inmate who set fire to a jail cell is headed to the Grand Jury.
Officials said 22-year-old Colbert County Jail inmate, J.J. Common, set a small fire inside his jail cell after officers found his girlfriend trying to smuggle in contraband.
The woman was arrested.
Officials said Common used a lighter to set fire to paper after hearing his girlfriend had been arrested.
The fire was quickly extinguished and Common's visiting rights were revoked.
