WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) -
A Livonia man was killed Thursday evening when he was hit while trying to cross LA 1.
State Police say Emmanuelle Stewart, 36, walked directly into a vehicle's path, causing the accident.
The crash happened just before 7 p.m.
Troopers
suspect Stewart was impaired at the time of the crash. A toxicology
sample has been submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
The
driver of the car that struck Stewart was cited for driving without a
license. State Police do not believe she was impaired.
The crash is still under investigation.
