Attorneys request Hammad Memon mental examination for Feb. 13

MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

Attorneys submitted a request for a date to conduct a mental examination of accused Discovery Middle School shooter, Hammad Memon.

Attorney James Parkman submitted a motion for a mental examination of Memon. The motion was submitted for a defense expert to conduct the examination on February 15, 2013.

Attorneys filed a motion in December for permission to conduct the mental examination.

Memon is charged with murder for the shooting death of middle schooler Todd Brown in 2010.

Court documents show Memon's legal team plans to present an insanity defense at trial.
