Several East Texans are beginning the new year with a new bundle of joy.
At Trinity Mother Frances hospital in Tyler, Mikah Nelson (pictured), was born at 12:45 this morning. New mother Melva Redic had an emergency c-section just after the calendar turned. Melva is the oldest of her generation at 31, and baby Mikah is now the youngest of his.
At Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, Laney Michelle Dees was born at 2:56 this morning. At Longview Regional Hospital, Colby Coston was born at 2:37 this morning.
The spokeswoman for East Texas Medical Center in Tyler said a woman is in labor at that hospital.
