PASADENA, CA (WAFF) -

A float in Tuesday's Rose Parade featured a picture of a murdered Alabama Police officer.

A picture of slain Anniston police officer Justin Sollohub was among the 72 organ donors highlighted on the colorful Donate Life float.

Sollohub died in a shooting in August while chasing a suspect.

UAB hospital sponsored Sollohub's picture. Four people received his organs.

The latest numbers from the Alabama Organ Center show more than 3,700 people are currently awaiting an organ transplant in Alabama. About 3,500 of them are in need of a kidney.
