DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
Decatur Police confirmed on Monday they're investigating if whoever robbed Bank Independent on Friday is also responsible for nearly half-dozen other robberies in the Valley.
Five different robberies in the last four weeks have all had similar characteristics and robber descriptions.
Those five robberies have happened in the following areas: Huntsville, Meridianville, twice in Hartselle and the latest on Friday in Decatur.
The robber has walked up to each bank, knocked on the drive-thru window and demanded cash. Sometimes he's gotten away with money and other times he's been turned away.
Last Friday, Decatur Police said that's exactly what happened at Bank Independent. Investigators said a man walked up to the bank drive-thru window around 8 p.m. He took off on foot with cash, but dropped some money on the ground as he ran away from the bank on Highway 31.
