LACEY'S SPRING, AL (WAFF) -
Morgan County deputies arrested a woman in Lacey's Spring after a drug stop Sunday night.
Deputies stopped 28-year-old Michelle Lyn Cherry at the intersection of Highway 36 East and Double Creek Road. Cherry had her 11-year-old child in the vehicle with her.
While searching the vehicle, deputies found a plastic bag containing ICE, a more pure form of methamphetamine.
The Morgan County Drug Task Force was called to the scene, and they arrested Cherry for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
After the arrest, deputies and agents went to the child's home and conducted a welfare check to make sure the child wasn't in danger, and the living conditions were acceptable. The child is now in the care of his father.
