HARRISON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
A Harrison County child died on Monday after being thrown from an ATV.
On Monday night, Marshall EMS responded to an accident on private property in the 4300 block of Cooks Road. When they arrived on the scene, they found a four-seat Polaris ATV and a victim of the accident being treated. A second victim, the 12-year-old male, had been throw from the vehicle. Emergency personnel determined that the male was deceased.
Judge Westy Meisenheimer was notified about the accident and ordered an inquest into his death. The other victim was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall to be treated for his injuries.
Authorities are collecting witness statements and the investigation is continuing.
