GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
North Alabama didn't get hit by tornadoes on Christmas, but the area did see storms that packed a punch with intense wind gusts.
In Marshall County, a paddleboat sustained some heavy wind damage, but it's not the first time the Debi Sue has been a victim of Mother Nature.
Wind caused damage to the boat and surrounding structures while it was docked at City Harbor in Guntersville several months ago. During the storm on Christmas night, winds toppled a rear canopy, damaged the smoke stack, and blew down a sign hanging on top.
The boat was anchored at a Guntersville marina waiting for repairs.
Some residents who live at the marina said they heard the loud winds and heard the sound of the canopy falling to the ground.
The owners live out of town and were unavailable for comment.
