ESTILL SPRINGS, TN (WSMV) -
Franklin County is mourning a community fire chief who died Tuesday after a fall from a ladder.
Estill Springs Fire Chief Anthony Lowhorn, 57, was on a ladder trying to change the flood lights at his son's home when he fell and hit his head.
Lowhorn was transported to Southern Tennessee Medical Center, where he died.
The fire chief was married for almost 40 years to his wife, Ivy. Friends said Lowhorn had wanted to be a firefighter ever since he was in the first grade.
