HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Emergency management officials across Alabama are urging people to stay
weather-alert as they celebrate Christmas.
EMA officials are already preparing for severe weather response. They said
there is a concern that people will not pay as much attention to the threat
because of the holiday.
Those planning to drive farther south in Alabama where severe weather is
expected to be at its worst are advised to monitor the weather before hitting
the road.
Alabama EMA Director Art Faulkner spent Monday briefing Governor Robert
Bentley and local EMA offices about Tuesday's threat.
"When you do have severe weather that could impact the state, it could
be worse or it may not be as bad. So what we're urging people to do is
have a plan," Faulkner said.
Faulkner advised people to have an evacuation plan and keep weather radios
on-hand.
