The Auburn Tigers watched a three game winning streak come to an end Saturday, as Winthrop defeated the Tigers 74-67 at Auburn Arena.
The Tigers didn't shoot the basketball very well, the Tigers made just 3 of 23 3-pointers (13 percent) and shot 38.3 percent (23 of 60). Auburn trailed by as many as 16 points in the game but made a late rally to cut the Eagles lead to three in the final minutes. But Auburn couldn't get any closer.
Frankie Sullivan led all Tigers with 22 points, while Chris Denson chipped in with 18 points. The Tigers will return to action December 29th against 10th ranked Illinois at the United Center in Chicago.
