The Alabama Crimson Tide, fresh off a win on the road against Texas Tech, fell to Mercer Saturday 66-59. The Tide led by double digits in each half of the game, but Mercer would rally late taking the lead off a Travis Smith 3 pointer with 6:24 left in the game.
Alabama took a 59-58 lead when Madison native and former Bob Jones standout Levi Randolph made a jumper with 1:37 left in the game. But Mercer held the Crimson Tide scoreless from that point.
Rodney Cooper led Alabama with 17 points and 7 Rebounds, Huntsville native and former Butler High standout Trevor Lacey scored 5 in the loss.
The Tide return to action Sunday December 30th against Tulane at Coleman Coliseum.
