8 sentenced for gun trafficking in N. Alabama

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Eight people from north Alabama have been sentenced in a shocking gun trafficking crime.

Federal prosecutors said Gary Lee Madison collected 26 guns bought by him and seven others. He then sold them to a third party.

Nineteen of those guns were seized late last year in Mexico when the Mexican army took down a drug cartel, Los Zetas.

The guns were all bought at a shop in Huntsville.

They included three 50 caliber sniper rifles and a variety of assault rifles.

Madison was sentenced to just less than five years in prison.

The others received sentences ranging from probation to 10 months.

Ruffin Wilkerson Blaylock Jr. was sentenced to six months, three in prison and the other three in home detention.

Quentin Donta Hall, Reggie Ellison, and Timothy Lynn Osborn were all sentenced to 10 months.

Desma Depere Willis, Courtney Kentae Hobbs, and Amanda Dion Osborn were all placed on probation.
