Auburn hires Rodney Gardner as Defensive line coach - WAFF-TV: News, Weather and Sports for Huntsville, AL

New Auburn Head Coach Gus Malzahn officially hiring Rodney Gardner as Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Line Coach Thursday night.

Garner spent the last 15 years coaching at Georgia, where he was known as one of the best recruiters in the country. Garner also has strong ties to Auburn playing there in 1984-88 and served as a tight ends coach, recruiting coordinator and strength and conditioning coach from 1990-95.

He was assistant head coach, defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Georgia. The hiring of Gardner makes five coaches added to Malzahn's staff.
