MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
The Madison County Sheriff's Department is getting back in the rodeo business.
Sheriff Blake Dorning made the announcement late Tuesday afternoon at the VBC.
The Sheriff's Lone Star National Funders Rodeo will come to the arena on February 1st and 2nd.
They said there will be top notch competition, including some events never seen before in Huntsville.
"We've been in the rodeo business 37 years. My dad was in it before that. He started the company in 1937, so we understand rodeo. I'm so glad the sheriff's department is involved because it is a great fundraiser for the sheriff's department," said Preston Fowlkes with the Lone Star Rodeo Company.
Proceeds from the rodeo will benefit the Army Emergency Relief Fund and the Concerns for Police Survivors.
