FAYETTEVILLE, TN (WAFF) -
Fayetteville, Tennessee schools reopened Monday after shutting down a couple of days due to a flu outbreak.
School leaders in Fayetteville said attendance returned to more normal levels after classes were canceled last Thursday and Friday.
"Attendance is a lot better and we're tickled about it," said Fayetteville School Supervisor Ron Perrin who noted the flu also forced several staff members to stay home sick last week.
Class rooms were disinfected while students were at home.
"It did a lot of good," said Perrin.
School leaders plan another round of disinfecting school facilities over the Christmas break.
