SHEFFIELD, AL (WAFF) -
Helen Keller Hospital remains on lockdown after a patient reported receiving a threat.
The hospital went on lockdown around 9 p.m. Sunday. Hospital officials did not detail what the threat entailed. As of Tuesday morning, the hospital remained on lockdown status.
Officials believe the threat is an isolated incident and putting the entire hospital on lockdown as protocol.
Hospital officials said a patient in the hospital reported receiving threats to harm them, so the staff placed the entire facility on lockdown.
All employees are required to use their badge to gain entrance to the hospital.
Visitors have to enter the hospital through the emergency room. Security is also posted at every entrance, and local law enforcement was notified.
Hospital officials said no one has been hurt and no additional problems have been reported.
