HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
On the first Sunday since that horrific shooting in Connecticut, religious leaders everywhere are making this tragedy a part of their sermons.
Dozens of parishioners prayed for the victims and the gunman at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
During his Mass speech, Father Joseph Lubrano focused on love, compassion, and forgiveness.
He urged people to hold tightly to those they love and not take things for granted. He said the world is in trouble and we must do something about it but the answer is hard to find.
"I don't have any good answers, but I think if we come together and pray together, at least we have the support of one another. Sometimes that makes it a little easier to deal with, said Father Joseph Lubrano, St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Father Lubrano is urging folks from all faiths to seek understanding.
