HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Local law enforcement teamed with WAY-FM and Target on Thursday for Christmas Prayers with a Cop.
Community donations allowed parents who are financially struggling this season to shop for their kids.
Children were provided snacks while officers also played games with them.
They say it's the least they can do to help a family at Christmastime.
"It's an awesome feeling. It comes straight from all the guys' hearts. We're happy to be able to come out and assist with this and get the money to allow the parents to go and do the shopping," said Donny Shawl, Vice President of FOP Lodge #6.
The program is now in its 10th year, and it's all made possible through community support.
