DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
Residents will have the chance to give their opinions concerning the future of the Decatur City School system during four public meetings.
The meetings are being billed as the We Know We Can initiative, aimed at gathering input from the public that will be used to help form the school district's five year plan, which will be unveiled next spring.
"We're not going to talk. We're going to listen. We'll have facilitators in small groups of about 20 and allow them time to share where they'd like to see their school district go in the next five years," said Superintendent Dr. Ed Nichols.
The first We Know We Can meeting is December 13th at the Turner-Surles Community Center. It starts at 5:30 p.m.
Two of the other meetings start at the same time, at Decatur High School on December 17th and at Austin High School on December 18th.
Another meeting on December 18th is scheduled for 11 a.m. the BBVA Compass Downtown Branch.
The first We Know We Can meeting is December 13th at the Turner-Surles Community Center.
