BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A Baton Rouge judge denied a request to set bail for Michael Robertson Wednesday morning. Robertson and Lavaughn Riley are both charged with first degree murder in the beating death of their son Xzavion Riley.
In June, autopsy results found that the 8-year-old was beaten so badly his intestines ruptured.
The ruling marked the second time a judge denied bail for Robertson. He was also denied bail on June 18, 2012.
Robertson and Riley were indicted August 9, 2012 on first degree murder charges in the June 12 death of their son.
If convicted, Robertson and Riley could face the death penalty. Both parents have pleaded not guilty.
