MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Huntsville along with Madison city parents and teachers held a legislative forum to discuss items concerning education on the upcoming session.
Dozens packed the auditorium inside Columbia High School Monday night to discuss topics with state leaders on the importance of knowing what's going on in Montgomery and how it affects our kids' education.
Hot topics included the new school calendar bill as well as school funding.
"That is our big focus, especially mine as legislative VP, is to get parents involved and the advocates for their students education," said Lacey Sharpe with Huntsville Council PTAs.
PTA members hope forums like this one will help educate more parents about the importance of their child's education.
