PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) -
In Port Allen, Roger Bergeron was elected Mayor last year after Derek Lewis was found guilty in a racketeering scheme.
Demetric "Deedee" Slaughter beat Bergeron with 55 percent of the vote. She will now hold that spot for the next four years.
Slaughter had the most votes in the primary as well.
