AMITE CITY, LA (WAFB) -
The long-time Mayor of Amite, Reggie Goldsby, did not seeking re-election to focus on his medical practice. So, for the first time in more than 30 years, Amite will have a new Mayor.
Independent Buddy Bel defeated Democrat Walter Daniels.
According to Tangelina.com, Bell served 12 years on the Amite City Council throughout the 90's and was owner of Cabby's restaurant for 20 years. He retired in 2004.
