GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The city of Guntersville is gearing up for a nautical kind of Christmas parade for Saturday night.

Boats will be anchored all along Guntersville city harbor for Stars in the Harbor.

Area boaters are already decorating their boats in advance of the evening's show.

Organizers said they had three boats last year, but as many as 10 will be on display this year.

The event begins at 6 p.m., and the public will judge each boat. The winners will be announced at 9 p.m.

Vendors will be on hand, as well as a special guest.

"We're going to have a nice evening, lots of food, lots of lights, and see Santa," said Sharon Smith, the boat committee president.

Before the nautical parade, the city's annual downtown Christmas parade will kick off an hour earlier at 5 p.m.
