Juvenile escapee to face theft charges

A Tuscaloosa teenager who escaped from Mount Meigs in November will also face theft charges.

Brandon Evans, 16, was caught November 21st in Huntsville after three days on the run.

Two other juveniles escaped with him.

The teens attacked the staff members at the detention center then crashed a vehicle through a gate to get away.

According to the Department of Youth Services, Evans is charged as an adult for escape and theft.

His bond is set at a quarter of a million dollars.
