HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Emergency crews took two people to the hospital after a head on collision on Oakwood Avenue.
Witnesses on the scene said the driver of a Kia was driving the wrong way down Oakwood Avenue near Brookline when he struck a green Honda head on.
The driver of the Honda, 24-year-old Kristie Steger, had to be extricated and was unconscious when crews freed her. She was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition.
She died at the hospital.
The driver of the Kia was taken to Huntsville Hospital in serious condition.
Two people were taken to the hospital.
