LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A fiery crash on Highway 53 in Limestone County left one person dead.
Troopers said a Toyota Prius hit an elevated driveway head on around 1 a.m. Friday.
When firefighters arrived, the car was engulfed in flames.
The driver of the car died at the scene.
Highway 53 was closed for about two hours while emergency crews worked.
Officials said the victim was burned and they are working to identify who it is. The name of the victim has not been released.
The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
