LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A Lawrence County councilman was arrested during a drug roundup Thursday.
North Courtland Councilman Terry Robinson was arrested and charged with four counts of distribution of a controlled substance.
Lawrence County officials spent most of Thursday serving drug warrants across the county.
They began around 5 a.m. and by noon had served just over 30 warrants. They've made about 12 arrests of the 30 warrants.
"This is the front line of the drugs on the street that go to the kids," said Sheriff Gene Mitchell. "[This] is the folks that we're going to be working. They're the ones going out on the street that push it to the kids, so this is probably the most important crowd we can get."
A majority of the warrants were served in Town Creek, Moulton and Hillsboro.
