MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Madison County judge approved partial refunds to some storm shelter customers.

Tornado Masters customers will receive seven percent of their claims.

Those refunds bring the case against Tornado Masters to a close. The state attorney general sued the business back in March.

The judge permanently shut the company down after ruling the company falsely represented meeting government safety standards.

Attorney General Luther Strange said he's "Pleased with refunds that will be returned to Alabamians who were deceived and endangers by the practices of the company."

The total amount of refunds to be distributed is approximately $80,000.

Claimants can expect seven percent of their claim. Some will receive as much as $1,000. A North Alabama Daycare will get $3,019.

According to court documents, Huntsville Christian Academy paid roughly $80,000 for their shelter.

They're only to receive $5500 back.

Here's some other numbers from those same documents.

Dozens of Tornado Masters customers put in around $118,000 in claims for shelters that they never even received.

A court receiver recovered around $119,000 in Tornado Masters assets.

That doesn't even come close to the more than million dollars in claims that were submitted.

A judge signed off on the payments on December 4.
