Investigators received information that Tamika Lark, 28, was hiding with her two daughters in a home in the 4900 block of Court G in Fairfield. Deputies and Fairfield police officers found the sisters, three-year-old Genesis Nelson and one-year-old Destiny Seay, with their mother in the house around 10 a.m. Thursday.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says the girls were unharmed and in good condition.
Officials say Lark took her daughter on Sunday during a supervised visit at their father's home in the Eastern Valley area of Jefferson County. The father could not be present for the Dec. 2 visitation and asked his brother to supervise.
"When the brother stepped out of the room Tamika took the children and left. This was a violation of the custody order and deputies immediately began looking for her and the children," Chief Deputy Randy Christian said.
ABI issued a Missing Child alert and authorities obtained warrants for Lark's arrest.
Lark has been arrested on two counts of interference with custody and is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
